ヤーコプとヴィルヘルム・グリム兄弟のグリム童話は、もっとも知られたドイツ文学作品のひとつです。童話を収集した有名な「子どもと家庭の童話」により、グリム兄弟は世界的な名声を得ました。年月日は、グリム兄弟の子どもと家庭の童話の初版が出てからちょうど年目の誕生日に当たります。ドイツ観光局とヘッセン州は年をグリムイヤーと定め、文化に興味を持つ旅行者に向けてキャンペーンを展開します。
