Nibelung Museum Worms

At the Nibelung Museum in Worms, an ancient legend is brought to life as an interactive audio book using state-of-the-art multimedia technology. Set in the Hohenstaufen city wall, this attraction is dedicated to the Song of the Nibelungs and northern legends.

Since the Nibelung Museum in the Worms city wall opened in 2001, it has been bringing a famous heroic saga to life with state-of-the-art multimedia technology and looking back at its origins. Visitors are given an audio guide and taken on an exciting voyage of discovery. As they take in the Song of the Nibelungs, the unknown author in their ear guides them around the exhibition, which is set in two spectacular towers in the city wall dating back to the Hohenstaufen dynasty.

Anyone wanting to investigate the topic further can head down into the mythology lab, where they can learn about the Nibelung treasure and the immense universe of myths and legends. The Nibelung Museum has also joined forces with the Mannheim National Theatre to host its own exhibition on Wagner's epic music drama. Using a selection of props from the Mannheim production (premieres 2011–2013), "The Ring of the Nibelung" is presented on the basis of examples and clearly explained. Opening times: Tuesday to Friday: 10 am–5 pm, Saturday, Sunday and public holidays: 10 am–6 pm
