Tokio Hotel – teen idols

Identical twins Bill and Tom Kaulitz were not even twelve years old when they formed their band in Magdeburg in 2001. Four years later Tokio Hotel had their first number one hit in Germany – with the song Durch den Monsun.

Germany is not the only country where Tokio Hotel are teen heartthrobs. The band's singles, albums and DVDs have won gold and platinum in more than ten countries, from Hungary to Portugal and from Argentina to Russia. Tokio Hotel have been especially successful in France, where learning German suddenly became much more fun. In 2009 their third album Humanoid was simultaneously released in German and English – and promptly shot into the USA charts as well.
