It is hard to imagine a festival more varied than the Mädlesfest in Winnenden near Stuttgart, Baden-Württemberg on 7 and 8 July 2012. Held in honour of the Winnenden maiden, the subject of a 13th century minnesong, it offers a medieval market with stalls and marquees and an entertaining programme featuring craft demonstrations, fire shows and other displays. Great fun for all the family!
