5월 5일부터 7일까지 슈투트가르트에서 제 39회 독일관광청 여행박람회 Germany Travel Mart (이하 GTM 2013)가 열려 뜨거운 참여와 만족도를 보이며 성공적으로 마무리 되었다. 독일 최대 여행박람회인 GTM 2013은 중요한 B2B 미팅의 장으로, 올해는 42개국에서 610여 명의 바이어(Buyer)와 기자를 초청하였으며, 독일업체에서 350여 명이 참가하였다.



Foreign tourists have voted Neuschwanstein Castle the best place to visit in Germany. Number two on the list is Europa-Park, followed at number three by Cologne Cathedral, a UNESCO World Heritage site. The German National Tourist Board (GNTB) carried out the poll - the second of its kind - to find out which of Germany's many sights and places of interest were the most popular among foreign tourists. Between 1 July 2012 and the end of March 2013, visitors were able to vote for their 'top sights' at www.germany.travel/top100. This produced a list of 700 tourist highlights, which were then ranked according to popularity. The survey, which was available in 26 languages, registered more than 46,000 clicks.

Destination Germany is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Europe and is, according to IPK International 2013, the number one cultural travel destination for Europeans. It was ranked fifth out of 50 nations worldwide as a cultural destination in the Anholt-GfK Roper Nation Brands Index. Prominent among Germany's many cultural treasures are the 37 natural and cultural heritage sites that have been recognised by UNESCO. In 2014 the German National Tourist Board (GNTB) will be putting Germany's UNESCO World Heritage sites at the centre of its global marketing activities under the banner 'UNESCO World Heritage – sustainable cultural and natural tourism'.

A strong year for international travel by Europeans: according to the World Travel Monitor (WTM) and IPK International, in 2012, Europeans made more than 420 million trips to other countries. Nearly 85 per cent (355 million) of those were within Europe. This means that Europe maintains its prominent position as the largest source and destination market in international tourism.

Social media @GTM www.germany.travel/ gtmlive: The German National Tourist Board (GNTB) will be communicating from the 39th GTM Germany Travel Mart™ in Stuttgart via a range of social media channels – with live updates leading up to and during the most important inbound tourism workshop for Destination Germany. This includes platforms such as Twitter, Foursquare and Storify, among others. The GNTB is using these channels to disseminate information on the seminars, the workshop, network events and on the international press conference at the Porsche Museum in Stuttgart.

The 39th Germany Travel Mart™, the largest marketplace for inbound tourism in Germany, is being hosted in Stuttgart from 5 to 7 May 2013. The German National Tourist Board (GNTB) is staging this year's event in collaboration with Stuttgart-Marketing GmbH and Regio Stuttgart Marketing- und Tourismus GmbH. "The GTM is Destination Germany's most important B2B platform," explains Petra Hedorfer, Chief Executive Officer of the GNTB. "It is a high-calibre forum where German suppliers can come together with key account managers from all over the world to find the best ways of marketing Germany as a travel destination." This year, the GNTB will again be using social media channels such as Twitter, Foursquare and Storify to ensure that the event reaches the widest possible audience.

지난 3월 베를린 ITB에서 공개된 독일관광청 미니사이트(www.germany.travel/youth)의 방문 및 이용자수가 눈에 띄게 늘고 있다. 미니사이트의 첫 공개 이후, 1만 5천 여명이 독일 내 그들만의 특별한 ‘유스 핫스팟’을 등록하고 공유하였다. 연이어 독일관광청은 ‘독일 유스 핫스팟 - 여행의 순간을 공유하다’ 캠페인의 일환으로 블로거 프로젝트를 시작하였다. 이 프로젝트는 활발히 활동 중인 유럽 인기 블로거를 독일로 초청하여 그들의 여행기를 실시간으로 SNS에 공유하는 방법으로 진행 중이다.

‘2013 드레스덴 음악제’, ‘제 36회 국제 박물관의 날’
5월은 독일 축제가 꽃피는 달로, 특히 2013년은 역사와 전통을 자랑해 온 행사와 일정이 맞물린다. 세계적인 명성을 가진 음악가의 연주를 감상할 수 있는 ‘드레스덴 음악제’가 5월 11일부터 6월 2일까지, 독일 전역의 박물관이 하나의 주제로 전시를 여는 ‘국제 박물관의 날’ 행사가 5월 12일 개최된다.

‘여행하기 좋은 나라, 독일’이 방문객의 지속적인 성장으로 쾌재를 부르고 있다. 3년 연속 기록을 갱신한 가운데, 2012년은 전체 숙박일수 통계 중 외국인 숙박일수가 크게 늘어났다. 독일 연방 통계청 자료에 따르면, 2012년 한 해 동안 외국인 숙박일수는 6천 8백 80만 박 이상 기록하여 전년 동기 대비 8.1% 증가하였다. 에른스트 부르크바허(Ernst Burgbacher) 경제기술부 겸 관광부 차관은 “독일 전체 숙박일수가 4천만 박을 훌쩍 넘었다. 이는 독일이 매력적인 여행지로 부상하고 있음을 증명한다.”고 말했다.

지난 몇 년 간 젊은이들의 독일 방문은 크게 증가했다. 독일관광청은 2013년, 젊은이들의 여행 ‘유스 트래블’에 집중하여 마케팅을 펼친다. ‘젊은이를 위한 독일 - 핫스팟, 브랜드뉴, 라이프스타일’이라는 마케팅 주제로 관광지로서 독일의 매력을 전 세계 젊은이에게 알릴 계획이다. 페트라 헤도르퍼(Petra Hedorfer) 독일관광청 CEO는 “독일을 방문하는 전 세계의 젊은 여행자들은 앞으로의 발전 가능성이 높은 타깃이다. 최근 집계 자료인 2011년에는 유럽에서만 약 천 만 명의 15세-29세 젊은이가 독일을 방문했다.”고 말했다.
