They're masters of the rock power ballad, and their songs like Still Loving You, Send Me An Angel and most notably Wind Of Change were worldwide hits. The Scorpions' album Love At First Sting (1984) even went triple platinum in the USA.
The band came together in Sarstedt (near Hannover) in 1965 and spent many years working their way up and playing any number of concerts. Their first album wasn't released until 1972 but then came live successes in the UK, Japan and the USA. The creative trio – Rudolf Schenker, Klaus Meine and Matthias Jabs – who have made Scorpions a world brand have been together since 1979. In 1990 their rock ballad Wind Of Change became the musical symbol of the fall of the Berlin Wall and sold over 10 million copies. Since 1999 Scorpions have been working with other artists including the Berlin Philharmonic. In 2010 the band began a three-year farewell tour of five continents – 45 years after forming.
