ITB Berlin at a glance
ITB Berlin is the leading trade show for the worldwide travel industry, with over 110,000 trade visitors, of whom about 40 % come from abroad. In 2011 attendance totalled 170,000 on an overall display area of 160,000 square metres on the Berlin Exhibition Grounds. Each year sales in excess of six billion euros are generated at ITB Berlin, which not only provides an accurate picture of the state of global travel industry but is also a major media event.
During the five days of ITB Berlin new trends are being established for an industry that employs over 100 million people worldwide, making it certainly one of the world’s largest and most important growth sectors. Tourism products are clearly arranged on a geographical basis and according to specific market segments. Moreover, with its’ ITB Berlin Business Travel Days, ITB Berlin gives particular prominence to Business Travel and MICE. Products and services are being displayed by over 11,000 companies from more than 180 countries, representing the entire value-added chain of this industry.
