The old cellarium in this 12th century former Cistercian abbey in the charming Tauber valley has been lovingly converted into a wine shop where fine wines from over 21 producers are available. On request, wine tastings can be designed to suit your individual requirements and can be combined with a guided tour of the abbey and grounds or a short tour of the abbey's own vineyard.

Our grapes flourish amid the beautiful Middle Rhine Valley World Cultural Heritage site . We are passionate about producing fine wines from riesling grapes and we make the finest spirits and liqueurs from orchard fruits. Alongside our own wines, we also sell those produced by fellow winemakers. Our winery is set on a small plateau with panoramic views of the Rhine valley.

Winninger Spital wine shop's aim is to foster an appreciation of wine. It helps that the quality of the wines made by the 17 wineries based in Winningen is outstanding. Wines from Scharzhofberger, Ockfener Bockstein and other acclaimed vineyards can be tasted at any time and are available at wholesale prices.

Schloss Johannisberg has been making wine for more than 900 years. As the world's first riesling estate, we have been growing and vinifying this major variety for around 300 years. Tasting the wines in our ancient cellar surrounded by wooden barrels is a special experience, matched only by the views of the Rheingau . Regional specialities are also served in our estate restaurant.
