Toy Museum Nuremberg

As one of the most famous museums in the world, the Toy Museum in Nuremberg promises an unforgettable experience. The cultural history of the toy from ancient times to the modern day is presented in an exhibition space spanning 1,400 square metres.

Nuremberg has been known for its toys for over 600 years, with this tradition stretching all the way back to medieval dollmakers, talented creators of pewter figures and the numerous tin toy producers during the industrial era. And now it is the host of the International Toy Fair, the world's leading trade fair in its industry.

The Toy Museum at the heart of Nuremberg's Old Town is part of the city's rich cultural history, showcasing exhibits from throughout the ages. Children are obviously thrilled to be here but the museum is also a hit with collectors and culture vultures. Dolls, shops, pewter figures and tin toys, traditional wooden toys, bubblegum machines and a large model train set are all part of the collection. And there's also plenty of space at the Toy Museum for more modern exhibits, including Lego, Barbie, Playmobil and Matchbox. The children's activity area is the place to go for fun and interactive learning experiences. And the huge play area is open during the summer months. Opening times: Tuesday to Friday: 10 am–5 pm, Saturday and Sunday: 10 am–6 pm_x000D
