Rammstein – Teutonic provocateurs

Rammstein's brute-force vocals, totalitarian look and provocative texts about power and sex are always sources of controversy. All their albums since 1997 have reached number one in the German charts.

The hard metal band Rammstein formed in Berlin in 1994 and their international breakthrough came just three years later – with the album Sehnsucht and two titles on the soundtrack of David Lynch's film Lost Highway. Tours of the USA and Latin America followed, where the band's unrelentingly harsh sound and German-language lyrics found many fans. Rammstein's albums have gone not only gold but platinum in Finland, Austria, Switzerland, Poland, Russia, Argentina, New Zealand, Canada and the USA.
