Conventions from A to Z

Frankfurt am Main – city of contrasts

Frankfurt am Main, the city at the heart of Europe, is an attractive mix of contradictions, offering the traditional and the modern, business and culture, the big-city bustle and peace and quiet.

The choice of conference and event facilities on offer in Frankfurt am Main is as diverse as the city itself: in addition to conventional meeting rooms and historical buildings, there's also a variety of more contemporary event locations. A successful blend of both can be found at the famous Alte Oper, whose prestige exterior is complemented by modern facilities inside. You're sure to find the appropriate setting for every kind of event, whether it's at the historical Römer town hall, the new university campus in the Westend district with its state-of-the-art conference facilities, the restored Palais Frankfurt on Hauptwache square, the renovated Carmelite abbey with its famous frescos and, of course, at the many conference hotels.

The most famous of the venues in Frankfurt is the Messe exhibition centre, one of the largest exhibition sites in the world that also includes the Congress Center, Forum and Festhalle.

The fact that Frankfurt is a popular destination for the international events industry speaks for itself. The IMEX trade fair, for example, attracts congress planners from all over the world.

There are also a number of venues and options for supporting programmes on offer in the region around Frankfurt. From the city, it's just a short hop to the wineries of the Rheingau, the spa town of Wiesbaden, Darmstadt – the city of science, and Hanau – the birthplace of the Brothers Grimm.
