Widely regarded as one of the most beautiful parks in Germany, egapark in Erfurt greets visitors with a glorious spread of flowers. It is also home to an educational nature trail, a viewing tower, an observatory and a children's playground.

Keen gardeners won't be the only ones to delight in all the world's flowers, plants and trees at egapark in Erfurt all year round. One of Germany's largest floral parks and gardens is bound to put a smile on your face. Having been used as a park back in the 1920s, the area around the old Cyriaksburg Castle wasn't transformed into a garden and exhibition park until 1959. Europe's largest ornamental flowerbed is a splendid floral display made up of 150,000 spring flowers and magnificent perennials during the summer months.

The Japanese rock and water garden covers 7,000 square metres as a harmonious homage to the Asian art of gardening. Other highlights include the plant display houses featuring cacti and orchids, the fragrant rose garden hosting 450 varieties and species, the geranium display and the butterfly house. And the icing on the cake has to be a visit to the German Horticulture Museum, which recalls the history of the garden in an astonishing permanent exhibition called 'The Whole World in the Garden'.
