The Schleswig-Holstein Gourmet Festival is when Germany's northernmost federal state shows off its food, drink and tourism appeal. Hosting the event on 28 January 2012 is the Seamen's Guild of Lübeck. Guest chef is Thomas Martin, whose outstanding cuisine has earnt two Michelin stars for Hamburg's Louis C. Jacob hotel.
Built in 1535, the gabled house of the Seamen's Guild is the perfect place to learn all about the fascinating history of the Hanseatic League. It is located in the old quarter of Lübeck, which was awarded UNESCO World Heritage status in 1987.
