Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm, familiar to all as the Brothers Grimm, rose to fame after publishing their collection of 'Children's and Household Tales' more commonly known as 'Grimms' Fairy Tales'.
The Brothers Grimm Museum in Kassel has now reopened after refurbishment. It contains a permanent exhibition exploring the life and legacy of Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm. Prize exhibits are the copies of Grimm's Fairy Tales from 1812, which turn 200 years old this year and have been added to the UNESCO World Heritage document list.
Along the German Fairytale Route and Fairytale Lands Trail, keen walkers can retrace the steps of the Brothers Grimm and discover fairytale Germany at its best.
