In 1912, when Hugo von Hofmannsthal wrote "Jedermann", a new version of the medieval morality play "Everyman", he found he had created a modern classic. In the last hour of his life, a man is abandoned by friends and possessions – and the story gradually unfolds around the universal themes of repentance and the meaning of life. For 27 years, the Jedermann Festival has been a permanent fixture on the Berlin arts scene. Every year, a star cast vows the audience performing against the dramatic backdrop of the Berlin Cathedral, director: Brigitte Grothum. The performance is in German.
