Wiesbaden Museum

Wiesbaden Museum is home to an art and natural history collection. Its exceptional Expressionist collection in particular has caught the world's attention.

Permanent art exhibitions across seven rooms showcase works of art from the 12th century to the modern day. These are divided into three areas: Old Masters, Classical Modern and Contemporary Art. The Jawlensky collection here is one of the most important in the world. Another special highlight at the museum is the collection of works by Ferdinand Wolfgang Neess, which forms a permanent exhibition in the south wing. The more than 500 objects here cover all categories of Art Nouveau, offering up examples to demonstrate the quality and style of art at the end of the 19th century.

The north wing is home to the natural history collection. The permanent exhibition (Aesthetics of Nature) bridges the gap between art and nature in four themed rooms called "Shape", "Colour", "Movement" and "Time". Here, visitors can explore the diverse shapes and colours found in nature. The permanent exhibition is complemented by a number of special displays. Opening hours: Tuesday and Thursday: 10 am–8 pm, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday: 10 am–5 pm
