Quality Monitor
The Quality Monitor survey of the German tourism industry is a joint initiative of the GNTB and ERV. Other tourism partners involved include regional marketing organisations, holiday regions and venues for meetings, incentives, conferences and events. The survey was launched in 2007 as a market research tool. It provides insights into the demographic structure of visitors to Germany, what they do during their trips, how much they spend and how satisfied they are. The survey also reveals each destination’s strengths and weaknesses. Information is obtained by conducting face-to-face interviews with visitors from Germany and abroad.

Since its inception, the Quality Monitor has been a valuable tool for quality assurance and an indispensable aid to all decision-makers in the German travel industry. Participating destinations can gauge their market position in terms of various target groups, test the competitiveness of their programmes and develop strategies and action plans to improve their position in the market.
