With his design for Felix Nussbaum Haus, which he called Museum Without Exit, architect Daniel Libeskind has created a poignant memorial in Osnabrück dedicated to Nussbaum and his art.
At Felix Nussbaum Haus, the architecture, the artist, his work and his life all interact with one another to achieve a remarkable synthesis. The architecture 'carries' the art, enhancing some of the themes and expressions in Nussbaum's pictures. Libeskind is also the architect of the Jewish Museum in Berlin and was commissioned to redevelop Ground Zero in New York.
