Rising up from the sweeping marshlands where Denmark meets northern Germany lies the man-made hill of Seebüll.
It was here that Emil Nolde, one of the leading painters of the Expressionist movement, lived and worked from 1927 to 1956. Seebüll was his favourite place and there is nowhere better to learn about the painter and his world-famous works of art. Nolde's historical home-cum-studio with its annually changing exhibitions, the garden that the artist designed himself and the Seebüll restaurant offer ample opportunity to relax and enjoy the surroundings.
March-December: daily 10am-6pm
