Krystallpalast Variety Theatre in Leipzig

Leipzig's original Krystallpalast, which first opened its doors in 1882, was one of Germany's largest entertainment venues at the end of the 19th century and featured international stars such as Josephine Baker and the Italian juggler Enrico Rastelli. Since 1994 the new Krystallpalast Variety Theatre has been continuing the work of its predecessor, which was destroyed during the Second World War. And once again, thrilling acrobatics, captivating music, hilarious comedy and great cuisine have come together to provide audiences with a variety experience of world renown.

Tigerpalast in Frankfurt

"Liberty, Egality, Variety!" This is the motto of the Tigerpalast Variety Theatre, which has been a fixture of central Frankfurt since 1988. The theatre specialises in two-hour shows featuring some of the world's top stand-ups, wordsmiths, singers, tightrope walkers, jugglers and magicians – and always backed by a live, inhouse variety band. The inhouse cuisine is equally impressive: no wonder that the Tiger Restaurant has been the proud holder of a Michelin star since 1997.

Et cetera in Bochum

For seven years the et cetera was Germany's only touring variety theatre, but it finally set up permanent camp in Bochum in the heart of the Ruhr region in 1999. Here you can treat yourself to fine food and drink in the theatre's spacious foyer with bar, in the café garden or in the auditorium itself, whilst expert performances by acrobats, jugglers, dancers, singers, magicians and compères transport you to the magical world of variety. English Theatre Berlin

The English Theatre Berlin (EBT) was known for a long time as 'Friends of Italian Opera' – even if that name was somewhat misleading. The theatre forms the hub of the capital's English-language theatre scene and does not feature any German plays (or Italian operas!) in its programme. Instead, it has a broad range of English-language offerings – both inhouse productions and touring shows – ranging from classic and contemporary drama to comedy acts. The ETB also co-produces works by young dramatists from all over the world.
