Culture Store Museum Würzburg

The Culture Store Museum in Würzburg showcases art from the 19th century to the modern day in a historical, heritage-listed granary right next to the Winterhafen harbour.

The historical granary complete with spectacular modern architecture is the perfect setting for the art on display across 3,500 square metres here. The artwork covers the 19th, 20th and 21st centuries and represents the Romanticism, Biedermeier, Impressionism and Expressionism movements. There is also a selection of contemporary art originating from 23 European countries. The "Peter C. Ruppert Collection of European Concrete Art after 1945" features works by artists like Max Bill, Günter Fruhtrunk and Victor Vasarely alongside fascinating installations and digital art.

A local art collection also forms part of the permanent exhibition, with a focus on German Impressionism by significant artists, such as the Berlin Secession group. Temporary exhibitions are always adding to the permanent collection, covering areas such as Rhineland Expressionism. Opening times: Tuesday: 1 pm–6 pm, Wednesday: 11 am–6 pm, Thursday: 11 am–7 pm and Friday to Sunday: 11 am–6 pm
