The Trollinger Marathon in Heilbronn, the region's biggest amateur sporting event, takes place this year on 6 May 2012. But it's not just for runners. The name Trollinger comes from a local grape variety so there's also the chance to enjoy the finest Württemberg wines and much more besides. A prize is awarded for the most unusual costume and the many trackside wine tastings fly the flag for one of Germany's best red wine regions.
