Germany is a musical country, and known for more than just being the home of Bach and Beethoven. Contemporary artists, international festivals and young music events covering every conceivable style hold widespread appeal. The aim of the Day of Music is to illustrate the importance and value accorded to music in Germany. This year the motto is 'Hearing', and at more than 1,500 events across the country on 17 June 2012 visitors will be invited to join in the fun.
