The E9 links the coasts of the Atlantic, the North Sea and the Baltic. The section through Mecklenburg-Western Pomeraniahugs the Baltic coastline, passing through fishing villages and seaside resorts.
Seaside resort of Warnemünde
This former fishing village is now a 'state-approved seaside resort'. Typical sights in Warnemünde are the fishing boats and pleasure craft on the Alter Strom canal, lovingly restored historical fishermen's cottages, the harbour wall and the promenade, which stretches into the distance. Built in 1897, the lighthouse is the town's most prominent landmark.
