The highest-altitude sulphur spring in Germany, clear water and the purest mountain air: a holiday in Bad Hindelang is sheer delight for body and mind.
Bad Hindelang is situated in the south of the Allgäu region at an altitude of 850 to 1,200 metres. It is one of six villages which together form a district, the others being Bad Oberdorf, Oberjoch, Unterjoch, Vorderhindelang and Hinterstein. All of these holiday destinations share the same glorious, health-enhancing countryside and the same climate of clear water, natural majesty and pure air. No wonder the German Meteorological Service's bio-climate map shows a grade 1 air quality rating for this gem of a health resort. The air here has extremely low levels of pollen and mould spores and is free of dust mites. In addition to its exceptionally healthy climate, Bad Hindelang also has a reputation as a Kneipp hydrotherapy centre with a balanced and comprehensive portfolio covering everything from an alpine allergy station to a sleep laboratory. The existing range of Kneipp treatments has been continually developed and fine-tuned in keeping with Kneipp philosophy and as a natural complement to the climatic therapies available locally. One of the key reasons for Bad Hindelang's success as a health resort is its different climate zones. Because the six villages are all at different altitudes, visitors can gradually adjust to the stimulating highland climate.
