There are many ways to discover Germany by bike. You can cycle across the whole country on around 200 long-distance cycle routes, a number of which run through Rhineland-Palatinate. For this reason, Rheinland-Pfalz Tourismus GmbH has introduced a new tourism concept: 'RadHelden in Rheinland-Pfalz' (Cycling Heroes in Rhineland-Palatinate). Those who want a more leisurely ride can cycle through wonderful vineyard scenery in the German wine regions along the Moselle, Ahr and Nahe rivers – the German Wine Route, for example, is always a popular choice. But there is also plenty on offer for racing cyclists and mountain bikers, with country roads in the upland regions and rugged forest trails.
