On 14 June 2012, the Lechweg will become the first walking trail to be certified with the new European quality marque 'Leading Quality Trails – Best of Europe', reports the German Ramblers' Association. The route follows the river Lech from Austria to Germany as far as Füssen in the Allgäu. The Lechweg also complies with all aspects of nature conservation as part of its sustainable ethos.
