Eifelsteig Trail – Just you, the rocks and the water

From Aachen to Trier, the Eifelsteig Trail passes ancient woodland and lakeland scenery, limestone outcrops, crater lakes and idyllic valleys, sandstone cliffs and waterfalls – a celebration of Germany’s diverse natural landscapes.

Tip: Daun volcanic maars

The maars are beautiful natural features characteristic of the Eifel. They are caused by eruptions of steam from funnel-shaped volcanoes that blast craters – usually bowl-shaped – into the landscape.
