At nearly 3,000 metres above sea level, the Zugspitze is the highest mountain in Germany and it is also the destination on day 87 of our tour of Germany's Top 100 sights . There's no need to face the demanding hike to reach the top though, as there are three different cable cars to bring you safely to the summit.
