The Hurricane Festival, which has been held in Scheessel in Lower Saxony every year since 1997, really does feel like a hurricane sweeping across the stages. Around 100 bands combine to create a rock spectacular in a class of its own.
The bands that make the Hurricane one of the biggest music festivals in Germany lie along a broad spectrum covering rock, alternative, metal, indie and electronic. Camping out is simple and cheap, whether you bring a camper van, motorhome or caravan. Since 2003 the Hurricane Festival has been held on three days – Friday to Sunday – in the second half of June with a line-up of international bands, popular German acts and always a fresh crop of newcomers.
