Most people are aware that exercise and a balanced diet are the basis for a long and healthy life. But what really constitutes a healthy diet? Healthy Eating Day (Tag der gesunden Ernährung) on 7 March 2012 aims to answer this question. Useful tips and numerous activities throughout Germany will encourage people to think about, and possibly change, their own eating habits.
But even those who already watch what they eat can learn more. In the western world, one in five people suffer from a food intolerance and the number is constantly increasing. With that in mind, this year's Healthy Eating Day is putting the focus on food intolerance, its causes, diagnosis and treatment.
