The Spinnerei

Leipzig

Funky, arty Spinnerei

A former cotton mill industrial site, today this space is occupied by art galleries, art shops, cafes and studios. I have been staying in one of the Meisterzimmer studios in a building occupied by creative types. A edgy part of town where you can feel just as creative and get to grips with the urban cool of the city.

Penta Hote

Leipzig

Penta Hotel

When ever you pass through Leipzig, take the chance to experience the amazing design hotel, Penta Hotel. The hotel is perfectly located, near both the central station and the central part of town. One of the hotel's best part, which you will see directly as you enter, is their wonderful bar and lounge. Another positive thing is their nice pool area thats combined with a relaxing area. Overall it's a good place to stay. Nice and fresh rooms. Unfortunately we had an unpleasant encounter with one or two of the staff in the reception.

Leipzig

From cotton to culture - The cotton mill in #Leipzig is evidence of how history and modernity can work together. Today it serves as an amazing location for artists, designers & creativity. Visit one of the numerous exhibitions before discovering the city! #youth #mustsees

Spinnerei

Leipzig

Leuke barman... ;)

A day with Lipzi Tours

We met John Ommeln from Lipzi Tours in Leipzig. He organizes guided tours for groups as well as individually adapted tours. You can choose from tours by bike or walk. We walked around in the western parts of the city, in the areas Plagwitz and Lindenau. It was incredibly beautiful! John really knows everything about Leipzig. And we learned a lot. Such as the fascinating history of the city, today's music scene and food culture. Speaking of food culture, veganism have become very popular here. Exciting!
Did you know that Leipzig was previously known for its fairs? The fairs meant that people from other parts of the world came to the city, which was unusually during communism time. It has affected Leipzig a lot and has led to that the people there are more open today. The city was, because of this, not as closed to the outside world.
We got to see several beautiful parks during the long walk. We are very fond of all the green surroundings mixed with the beautiful and magnificent houses and graffiti. In Leipzig nature meets the urban.
