Since opening in October 2004 the Frieder Burda Museum in Baden-Baden, which was designed by leading architect Richard Meier, has welcomed more than 1.6 million art enthusiasts.
The museum building – white as snow and flooded with light – is situated on the famous Lichtentaler Allee. The Frieder Burda collection has its roots in Expressionism and contains around 1,000 paintings, sculptures and works on paper. Its focus lies in classical modernism and contemporary art.
