Friedrichstadt-Palast

The Friedrichstadt-Palast is the most visited theater in Berlin and recommended by The New York Times. In terms of program and dimensions, it is unique in the world: over 100 artists perform the largest revue shows on the biggest stage worldwide.

Every year, our Grand Shows, children’s shows and guest appearances attract 700,000 visitors. The main hall seats 1,899 and features main, side, front and back stages, a water basin and podiums. There is a total of 2,200 square metres of stage in addition to a further 700 square metres of further space featuring state-of-the-art technology for move around.

VIVID GRAND SHOW - A CELEBRATION OF LIFE

Young R’eye is separated from her father and transformed into an android – half human, half machine. Although her life is now subject to external control, her yearning for freedom lives on. And, indeed, one day she does begin moving to a different beat. With the bright-eyed wonder of a child, she beholds the world with new eyes and perceives the overwhelming beauty of things that we often overlook.

Who can you be? What’s your true ID? VIVID is a hypersensuous journey of self-discovery and a declaration of love to life.

The creative team – working in five time zones from Melbourne via Berlin to Las Vegas – could not be more international. The final flourish: Philip Treacy, “the world’s most famous milliner” (THE TIMES). The gifted hatmaker works for Queen Elizabeth II, European royals, Alexander McQueen, Karl Lagerfeld, Ralph Lauren, Lady Gaga, Emma Watson and Madonna.

VIVID is a declaration of love to life. Featuring more than 100 stunning artists on the world’s biggest theater stage. A production budget of 12 million euros for spectacular costumes and stage sets of unparalleled dimensions. A kaleidoscope of physical perfection and outstanding artistic performances that may prompt tears of joy. Welcome to Berlin’s #1 venue for dazzling entertainment. Welcome to your Palast.

Revue shows are not musicals. Coherence is primarily achieved through visual imagery rather than narrative storytelling. Meaning they are also perfect for guests with no knowledge of German.

Barrier-free Travel

Friedrichstadt-Palast has 4 wheelchair seats. In addition, wheelchair users, who can be moved, may take a seat in row 3 (VIP row).

An induction loop in the hall can help hearing-impaired people hear the show more clearly.

How do you reach us?
As a wheelchair user, barrier-free access to the Friedrichstadt-Palast foyer is available using the theatre’s side entrance on Johannisstraße (off of Friedrichstraße). Directly from there, a lift takes you to all floors of the theatre and to the hall. Admission via the side entrance starts at the earliest one hour before the show begins.

When you arrive at the side entrance, simply use the bell which is easy to reach for wheelchair users and located to the right of the door. Our service personnel will then open the glass door. Upon request, our service personnel can look after you and take you from the door to your seat. You can also move completely independently in the foyer. But mobility in the hall is strongly limited by steps. On show days starting at 5 p.m. (until the end of the show), our theatre staff would also be happy to answer any questions you might have by telephone and can be reached at +49 30 2326 2646.

Easy parking
We would be happy to arrange for parking when you order tickets for wheelchair users at our theatre box office or by telephone at +49 30 2326 2326. When you order your tickets, you will immediately receive the service telephone number you need to call for the special arrangements for parking.

Parking places should be ordered two weeks before attending the show. They are located in the immediate vicinity of our barrier-free side entrance.
