Karl's Village of Discovery, Rövershagen – educational and entertaining

Karl's Village of Discovery is an all-weather, year-round destination for the whole family, offering farm-themed fun in Rövershagen near Rostock on the Baltic coast. Suitable for children aged three and over.

At Karl's Village of Discovery kids can run around and play – inside and out – all day long. The park has tractor rides, a 'flying cowshed', adventure playgrounds, a children's farm, a daily animal show in the live arena, a butterfly garden with more than 200 tropical residents, a Bobby Car circuit, an inflatable bouncer, a zip wire and Cap'n Karl's playland with slides, climbing frames, a ball pit and much, much more. Visitors of all ages can put their climbing skills to the test on the indoor high ropes course, which has a choice of 14 routes across two levels. Those with a taste for heights might also want to try the flying cowshed. There's fun to be had by all the family at the village mini golf – just hire some clubs and you're off. And every day you have the chance to see strawberry soap, jam, strawberry sweets, bread, coffee and cheese being produced in the demonstration workshops. You can also get creative yourself by joining in the daily activities at the craft studio. Try your hand at modelling and painting ceramics, making candles or even shaping glass.

Karl's Village of Discovery is home to Germany's biggest farmers' market, boasting local products and much more besides. Throughout the year there are lots of other seasonal events and activities, including the strawberry harvest, the pumpkin market, the maize maze and, in winter, incredible ice sculptures and a 400m² ice rink. And it goes without saying, there is no chance of getting hungry at this rural theme park. Entry to the Village of Discovery is free, with just a small sum charged for some of the attractions. If you decide a day is not long enough, you can stay overnight in one of the 18 log cabins at Erdbärchen Camp.
