Schönhausen Castle in Berlin

In the 18th century, the baroque Schönhausen Castle in Berlin was the summer residence of Queen Elisabeth Christine, consort of Frederick the Great, and later became the seat of the East German President. Audio guides are available in plain language and for partially sighted visitors, as well as video guides in sign language.

From 6th September 2019 to 27th January 2020 Berlinische Galerie shows Bauhaus-Originals and contemporary positions.
Marking the centenary of the Bauhaus’s founding, the Bauhaus-Archiv / Museum für Gestaltung’s exhibition at the Berlinische Galerie is presenting famous, familiar and forgotten Bauhaus originals and recounting the history behind the objects. “original bauhaus” sheds light on how unique work and series, remake and original are inseparably linked in the history of the Bauhaus. In reference to 14 key objects, the exhibition tells 14 different stories.

From Brandenburg Gate to Berlin Cathedral: the city's signature attractions take on a dazzling new look during the Festival of Lights in Berlin – one of the biggest illumination events in the world. 

For twelve nights internationally renowned artists use projections and installations to transform buildings, streets and squares in the German capital. The Festival of Lights is accompanied by various cultural and sporting events such as the Light Run and Open City night.
