A lot has happened in Schleswig-Holstein since the fall of the Berlin Wall 30 years ago. The Wadden Sea mudflats have become a UNESCO World Heritage site, for example, which has given nature conservation in Germany a massive boost. @sommertageblog made their way to Schleswig-Holstein to explore the plants and animals that live in and around the Wadden Sea.
This region has also seen big changes since the fall of the Berlin Wall. For example, what was once a restricted military area was transformed into the Harz National Park, which now provides a safe haven for many plant and animal species. @scottcbakken visited the Harz National Park and the surrounding areas 30 years after the fall of the Berlin Wall and took some great photos.
