Black Forest Spa Route – Luxuriate in this trail through idyllic valleys

Welcome to the Northern Black Forest's Black Forest Spa Route. It's not just fans of unbridled relaxation who get more than they bargained for on this 270 km stretch through idyllic valleys, hot thermal and mineral springs, traditional and modern spas and health resorts.

Health, beauty and fitness, leisure, arts and culture: everyone will find something to suit their interests in the charming countryside of the Northern Black Forest as the route makes its way between Pforzheim and Freudenstadt, the junction of the Nagold and Enz rivers and the Rebland in Baden-Baden. Few other regions have as many hydrotherapy, climatic, thermal and mineral spa resorts as here in the Northern Black Forest, one of Germany's largest nature reserves.

No place you'd rather be

Whether you prefer to relax in the bubbling waters of the thermal baths or get your circulation going in the hydrotherapy pools, wellness is a longstanding tradition in the Black Forest. The Black Forest Spa Route takes you on a circular tour through an unparalleled natural landscape that is perfect for wellness, fitness and health breaks. Draw strength from your surroundings: Mother Nature will give you energy, while the food and wine will restore your lust for life.

A route that will fulfill everything your heart desires

There is a large choice of leisure activities with something for everyone; from hiking, cycling, golf, climbing, fishing and paragliding to a wide range of winter sports. The thermal and mineral springs of these deep valleys have been used by the spas and health resorts here for centuries.

Take a break from the daily grind

The Northern Black Forest offers gentle hills, vibrant colours and healthy, relaxing air; a chance to breathe deeply and to find your inner self. The countryside is characterised by idyllic Black Forest towns and neatly kept half-timbered buildings, abbeys, castles, palaces, secluded lakes, coniferous forests, peat bogs, awe-inspiring valleys and vineyards. And if the woodland air and the thermal waters stimulate your appetite, you're sure to find delicious food in the right surroundings – whatever your taste.
