Radiology and radiotherapy

In diagnostic and interventional radiology, there was been a huge leap forward in the quality of imaging thanks to close cooperation between radiologists and medical technology specialists. This has achieved greater and better possibilities for non-invasive or minimally invasive procedures. In the field of radio-oncology, the high-precision radiotherapy machines in Germany's hospitals allow for the tumour tissue to be destroyed while protecting as much of the surrounding tissue as possible. These technical systems even compensate for the tiniest of movements made by the patient during the treatment. In addition, the first and currently only proton therapy centre in Europe to offer a complete hospital setting is located in Germany.
