法兰克福:博物馆的世界

众所周知,法兰克福 (Frankfurt) 是一座现代化的大都会城市。 那里有繁忙的商业、漂亮的建筑,还有欧洲第三大机场,一切都行走在现代化的最前端。 或许正因为如此,法兰克福对于不同类型、不同领域、不同规模的博物馆有种特殊的好感,正如那句格言所说:超越时间,但不能忘却时间。

一提到法兰克福,人们最先想到的,就是银行、大宗贸易、证券交易所和股票经纪人。 这些都对,但并不是法兰克福的全部。 博物馆群向世人展示着钟爱这座城市的理由。 地处美因河 (Main) 南岸的河岸博物馆区 (Museumsufer) 令人为之惊叹不已,施泰德艺术馆及其城市画廊 (Städelsches Kunstinstitut mit Städtischer Galerie) 更是让人叹为观止。 施泰德艺术馆位于法兰克福博物馆区的中心地带,是德国最重要的艺术博物馆之一,展品涵盖长达九个世纪的欧洲艺术杰作。 新近开放的地下扩建部分则主要展览 1945 年以后的藏品,包括约瑟夫·博伊斯 (Joseph Beuys)、格哈德·里希特 (Gerhard Richter) 等明星艺术家的作品在内。 再往东一点,坐落着电影博物馆 (Filmmuseum) 和建筑博物馆 (Architekturmuseum),后者本身就是一座充满创意的非传统建筑作品。 几步之外矗立着应用艺术博物馆 (Museum für Angewandte Kunst, MAK),它是美国建筑师理查德·迈耶 (Richard Meier) 的杰作,展出的各种手工艺品横跨千年历史。 跨过美因河来到对岸,走上几分钟就可抵达现代艺术博物馆 (Museums für Moderne Kunst, MMK),这座由汉斯·霍莱因 (Hans Hollein) 设计的博物馆绝对值得一看。锡恩美术馆 (Kunsthalle Schirn) 也是不错的选择,它是德国和欧洲的主要展览场馆之一。 大教堂周边也分布着很多画廊,虽然展品数量较少,并且往往游离于主流之外,但是质量绝对上乘。 就连地铁站也是艺术的展览场地,比如大教堂/罗马人车站 (Dom/Römer),在那里您可以欣赏到名为“边疆”(Grenzland) 的项目,它是游走于艺术、建筑和设计之间的艺术作品。

W. 伯恩斯坦 (F. W. Bernstein)、罗伯特·格恩哈特 (Robert Gernhardt)、克洛德维希·珀特 (Chlodwig Poth)、汉斯·特拉克斯勒 (Hans Traxler)、F. K. 韦希特尔 (F. K. Waechter)、贝恩德·法尔 (Bernd Pfarr) 和许多漫画家的作品肯定会让您捧腹大笑。

现在让我们回到现实世界中 - 一座座冲入云霄的银行大楼和商业大厦勾勒出欧洲最壮观的天际线,而这也是法兰克福真正的城市象征。 在这里,您也能发现广受认可的艺术 - 各家博物馆对于来自德意志银行、德国商业银行和 DZ 银行等银行的展品趋之若鹜,并在特定的时间向公众开放。 林立的银行高塔和斑驳的艺术之梦,这就是典型的法兰克福。

Oberhausen, Keulen en Frankfurt

Dé hotspots in Oberhausen, Keulen en Frankfurt!

Als je aan een leuke shop bestemming denkt, dan komt Duitsland waarschijnlijk niet meteen in je hoofd. Toch heeft het land heel wat leuks te bieden! Om dat te bewijzen reisde ILFN’s Michelle af naar de Westkant van het onze oosterburen. Om precies te zijn Oberhausen, Keulen en Frankfurt. De bestemming op dag één is Oberhausen. Jawel van het pretpark én in het Ruhrgebied gelegen. Bij dat laatste denk je aan grauw maar dat was absoluut niet het geval; Oberhausen en omgeving is prachtig groen. Waarschijnlijk weten mensen in het oosten van Nederland het al maar in Oberhausen is een ware shopwalhalla te vinden. Centro is een overdekt winkelcentrum dat prima kan concurreren met een Amerikaanse mall. Hotspot! Je vindt er onder andere H&M Beautybox, Zara, Liebeskind en de Italiaanse keten Calzedonia. Pauzeren tijdens of na het shoppen doe je bij Starbucks of de vele restaurants en bars die om en in Centro liggen. Wil je ook een beetje cultuur snuiven in Oberhausen? Dat kan bij Gasometer; een voormalige gasopslag waar nu tentoonstellingen plaatsvinden. Op dag twee reisde Michelle af naar Keulen met als eerste op de bestemming de wijk ‘Belgische Viertel’. Deze up-and-coming buurt beschikt over bijzondere boetiekjes en fijne eetgelegenheden zoals Madame Miammiam; hier vind je de heerlijkste taartjes in town! In de wijk heeft het typische Duitse merk Blutsgeschwister natuurlijk een shop. Een ander leuk winkeltje in het Belgische Viertel is Boutique Belgique; hier worden leuke designer look-a-likes verkocht naast Maison Scotch. Buiten het Belgische Viertal is ook genoeg leuks te vinden op shopgebied. In de Mittelstraße en het daarachter gelegen Ehrenstraße vind je high street merken en winkels als Loud! en concept store Apropos die merken als Saint Lauren en Alexander Wang verkopen. Ga je voor de grote ketens? Dan is de Hohe Straße en de Schildergaße de place-to-be. Eten doe je bij de de restaurants in Aachener Straße in het Belgische Viertel. Tip: de burgers bij Beef Brothers. Tot slot bracht Michelle een bezoekje aan Frankfurt. Deze stad heeft dezelfde wolkenkrabbers als New York maar ook een aantal mooie oude gebouwen zoals het stadhuis. In de Goethestraße vind je mooie designerboetieks zoals Chanel maar achter deze straat is iets wat je moet bezoeken tijdens de zomermaanden in Frankfurt; de Fressgrass. Het is een culinaire ‘markt’ waar de zakenmensen en andere locals komen om regionale wijn te drinken en van typisch Duits eten te genieten. In de buurt om de Fressgrass en Goethestraße vind je veel andere leuke shops zoals Cos. Ook leuk; de Zeil. Deze winkelstraat heeft het kaliber van vijf Amsterdamse Kalverstraten, mede dankzij de futuristische shopping mall. Designer vintage parels vind je bij Aschenputtel en bij Railslide kunnen sneaker freaks hun hart ophalen. Michelle at die avond bij restaurant Heimat; ietwat prijzig maar absoluut de moeite waard. Hier kun je onder andere van de typisch Frankfurtse groene saus genieten. Na een flitsbezoek aan Oberhausen, Keulen en Frankfurt was het op dag vier alweer tijd om naar huis te gaan. Eén dag per stad is natuurlijk veel te weinig dus als je van plan bent om West-Duitsland te bezoeken, trek dan wat langer voor je trip uit of richt je op minder steden. Don’t be fooled when you think you get kitschy souvenirs here. You will be surprised to find cool, hip and funny little gifts of the region and the city here to take home with. Museumsuferfest

The best festival in town

If you ask a Frankfurter which is the best festival in Frankfurt he will immediately say: “Museumsuferfest”(Museums Embankment Festival). It's not only one of the biggest cultural festivals in Europe it's also the one with the probably most beautiful location. Most of the many museums in Frankfurt are located on the left and right bank of the river Main, if you look from above it almost looks like a necklace with perls on both sides. Once a year Frankfurt celebrates its museums with a unique festival combining art, culture, music and gastronomy from around the globe. The museums are open till late night and offer many special guided tours and events. Next to the museums and the river you'll find many booths with food, music and souvenirs from all around the world. With 3 millions visitors each year the Museumsuferfest is definitely a mustsee when visiting Frankfurt. It ends with a huge firework on Sunday night.
