Jugendherberge Oldenburg (Simon Kesting)

The modern youth hostel is located in the immediate vicinity of Oldenburg railway station. The 64 rooms (two- to four-bed rooms) have their own sanitary facilities, there are modern meeting and seminar rooms, a chic lounge with plenty of seating, a food store and a large terrace. For families, there are family flats, a separate lounge, a playroom and children's equipment such as high chairs, cots or baby monitors.

  • There are two parking spaces available for people with disabilities.
  • The Oldenburg HBF and ZOB stops are located 350 m away.
  • All rooms and facilities available to guests are either step-free/at ground level or accessible via an elevator. 
  • All doors and passageways available to guests are at least 90 cm wide.
  • There is a lowered reception desk.
  • There are three accessible rooms. A height-adjustable nursing bed is available upon request.
  • The toilet in the room is accessible from one side (at least 80 cm). There are fold-down grab bars to the left and right of the toilet.  
  • The sink is wheelchair compatible, and the mirror is visible even when seated.
  • Access to the shower is threshold-free. A grab bar and a shower chair are provided.
  • The restaurant features tables that are no more than 80 cm high and wheelchair compatible at a height of 67 cm and a depth of 30 cm.
  • There is a public restroom for people with disabilities that is accessible from both sides (at least 80 cm). There are fold-down grab bars on the left and right sides of the toilet.
  • A rollator with a bistro tray is available, so that guests with mobility impairments do not have to carry their tray in the dining room.

  • In the event of an audible alarm, there is no additional visual flashing or strobe signal.
  • There is no audio induction loop system available. 
  • Wi-Fi is available.
  • In the rooms surveyed, there is at least one freely accessible electrical outlet near the bed. 
  • In the elevator, an outgoing emergency call is visually confirmed.
  • In the restaurant, there are tables with bright, glare-free lighting, with no lamps standing or hanging above them that obstruct the field of vision or eye contact.
