Seal Station National Park House Norddeich

Seehundstation Nationalpark-Haus Norddeich (Joke Pouliart)

The seal station at Norddeich National Park House is an efficient, recognized care station for marine mammals. For more than 40 years, up to 150 orphaned seals and the occasional grey seal have been reared in Norddeich every year, prepared for their life in the North Sea and released back into the wild. The station is responsible for the Lower Saxony Wadden Sea, which enjoys special protection as a National Park and World Heritage Site.
