Berchtesgaden Youth Hostel
Modern, unique and cosy: the Untersberg building at Berchtesgaden Youth Hostel offers stylish rooms with alpine charm and contemporary comforts. Just 50 metres away is the classic Jenner building, which houses the dining room and most of the communal areas.
The surrounding area is also unrivalled. The Watzmann reigns supreme in the Berchtesgadener Land. In the national park, the stags bellow; at Königssee, the echo of the trumpet resounds; and in St. Bartholomä, the bells ring out.

All areas relevant for testing meet the quality criteria of the label "Accessibility certified - partially accessible for people with walking disabilities".

- There is no parking available for people with disabilities.
- The “Jugendherberge” bus stop is 130 m away.
- Almost all rooms and facilities accessible to guests are step-free/at ground level or accessible via ramps. Exceptions: the areas in the basement (Haus Jenner) are accessible only via stairs with a handrail.
- There is a gradient of 15% or more.
- All doors, passageways, and pathways accessible to guests are at least 80 cm wide.
- There is a lowered reception desk.
- There are two accessible rooms in the Untersberg building.
- The toilet in these rooms is accessible from the left or right (minimum 90 cm). Flip-up grab bars are available to the left and right of the toilet.
- The sink in the room is wheelchair compatible, and the mirror can be seen even while seated.
- Access to the shower is threshold-free. A grab bar and a shower chair are provided.
- The dining room has tables that are no more than 80 cm high and are wheelchair compatible at a height of 67 cm and a depth of 30 cm.
- There is no public restroom for people with disabilities. The width of the stall doors is 62 cm.

- There are bright and glare-free tables in the dining room where there are no lamps standing or hanging to restrict the field of vision. There are no seating areas with low ambient noise.
- In room VO.01 at least one electrical outlet is available near the bed, in room VO.03 not.
