AERONAUTICUM (Guido Frank)

In the more than 1,000 m² hall and the huge outdoor area of the Aeronauticum, visitors gain interesting insights into the historical and technical development of airship aviation as well as naval and maritime aviation. Unique historical exhibits, impressive documents and pictures as well as original aircraft make the visit an exciting experience for young and old.

All areas relevant for testing meet the quality criteria of the label "Accessibility certified - accessible for people with walking disabilities and partially accessible for wheelchair users".

Some information on accessibility are listed below. For detailed information please see the evaluation report.

  • There are three parking spaces for people with disabilities.
  • There is a bus stop 300 meters away. 
  • All rooms and facilities that can be used by guests are accessible without steps/at ground level or via a ramp or elevator. 
  • All doors/passages that can be used by guests and are raised are at least 90 cm wide.
  • Exhibits and information are mainly visible from a seated position.
  • The counter/cash desk is 77 cm high.
  • Seating is available.
  • There are two public WCs for people with disabilities, which can be accessed from both sides (at least 80 cm). There are folding grab rails on the left and right.   
  • Guided tours are offered for people with walking disabilities and wheelchair users. Advance booking is necessary. 
  • Mobile or fixed seating is available for people with walking disabilities, which can be used during the tour.

  • An outgoing emergency call in the elevator is confirmed visually and acoustically. Alternatively, stairs are available.
  • Information about the exhibits is provided in writing.
  • Guided tours are offered for people with hearing impairments, but not for deaf people. Advance booking is necessary.  
  • Guided tours with FM equipment are available for people with hearing impairments (e.g. headphones, neckloops).
