The Ardey Hotel in Witten is a conference and city hotel in a quiet location on the edge of the Witten city center, only 1.5 km from the main railway station and the shopping center "Stadtgalerie". Witten is located between the cities of Dortmund and Bochum - an ideal starting point to explore the Ruhr area. The venue "Westfalenhallen" in Dortmund are only 15 km away, the Starlight Express in Bochum is only 13 km away. As an integrative hotel, the hotel offers the comfort of a barrier-free facility.   • There is a parking lot for people with disabilities.
  • All rooms and facilities that can be used by guests are accessible without steps/at ground level or via an elevator. 
  • All doors/passages that can be used by guests and are raised are at least 80 cm wide.
  • The manoeuvring spaces are at least 120 x 120 cm. 
  • The reception desk is 75 cm high at its lowest point.
  • There are seven barrier-free rooms.
  • The WC in room 311 can be accessed from one side (at least 90 cm). There are flip-up grab rails to the left and right of the WC.  
  • The washbasin is wheelchair compatible and the mirror can be seen while standing or sitting.
  • Access to the shower is barrier-free. A grab rail and a shower chair are available.
  • There are wheelchair compatible tables in the dining room (maximum height 80 cm, wheelchair compatible at a height of 67 cm and a depth of 30 cm).
  • There is a public toilet for people with disabilities, which can be accessed from both sides (70 cm and 90 cm). There are flip-up grab rails to the left and right of the toilet.

  • There is no audio induction loop system.
  • An outgoing emergency call in the elevator is confirmed acoustically. Alternatively, stairs are available.
  • There are tables in the dining room with bright and glare-free lighting, with no lamps standing or hanging that interfere with the field of vision or eye contact.
  • There are seating areas with low ambient noise (e.g. sitting area, separate room).
  • In room 311 (double room) there is no freely available socket near the bed.
  • WiFi is offered.

  • Assistance dogs are allowed in relevant areas/rooms.
  • The entrance is visually rich in contrast and recognizable by a tactile change of floor covering.
  • Almost all evaluated and usable areas for the guest are well illuminated, i.e. bright and glare-free. Exceptions: The 2nd staircase to the 3rd floor.
  • The signage is designed in clearly legible and contrasting font.
  • Information for orientation can be captured tactilely (e.g. relief or prismatic writing).
  • There are glass doors without safety markings.
  • An outgoing emergency call in the elevator is confirmed audibly. The break position is announced by spoken commands.

  • There is no menu available in large print or braille.
  • On request the menu can be displayed on a tablet.
