Cabaret “Magdeburger Zwickmühle”

Cabaret “Magdeburger Zwickmühle” (Manuela Fischer)

The "Magdeburger Zwickmühle" venue

The "Magdeburger Zwickmühle" is not just a political-satirical cabaret ensemble, of which the Süddeutsche Zeitung writes: "And it still exists: political cabaret. So completely without nonsense, far removed from all the embarrassment of the usual comedy pranksters. ... Two hours of political cabaret, topical, without meaningless nonsense ...".

The "Magdeburger Zwickmühle" is also the first private cabaret theatre in the state capital of Saxony-Anhalt.

On 29 February 1996 - a leap year - it entered Magdeburg's cultural landscape.

The "Magdeburger Zwickmühle" developed into a renowned cabaret theatre with a constantly changing programme and interesting guest performances.

The ensemble, which was founded by cabaret artist and author Hans-Günther Pölitz and has been under his artistic direction ever since, has already won several satire awards on the Elbe. It gives guest performances throughout the German-speaking world.

The programme has a lot to offer! Just browse through it and perhaps you will become curious about our programmes with the house ensemble, our permanent guests and guest performances!
