Youth Hostel Leer

The youth hostel Leer, one of the oldest buildings in the city, is located in the heart of the old town. The "Bummel-Meile", the picturesque harbor and many other sights can therefore be reached easily on foot. 

The immediate surroundings also have some highlights to offer: Castles and palaces, museum harbor with open-air museum for historic ships, the UNESCO World Heritage Wadden Sea and much more.

  • There is a designated parking space for people with disabilities.
  • Access to the youth hostel is step-free.
  • All rooms and facilities available to guests are accessible without steps.
  • All doors/passages and paths available to guests are at least 80 cm wide.
  • The reception desk is 74 cm high at its lowest point.  
  • There is one barrier-free room available.  
  • The toilet in the room is accessible from both sides (at least 90 cm). There are folding grab rails to the left and right of the toilet.  
  • The sink is wheelchair accessible and the mirror can be seen while standing or sitting.
  • The shower is accessible without a threshold. A grab rail and a shower chair are available.
  • The dining room has wheelchair-accessible tables (maximum height 80 cm, wheelchair accessibility at a height of 67 cm and a depth of 30 cm). 
  • There is no public toilet for people with disabilities.
