Tourist Information Alzeyer Land & Rheinhessische Schweiz (Robert Dieth)

The Tourist Information is located in the Alzey Museum and is centrally situated in the pedestrian zone. The services we offer range from organizing city or museum tours and looking after travel groups up to complete travel arrangements, including hotel bookings and visitor programs. The Tourist Information also takes care of visitors of the museum and has an abundance of information material available.

  • There are five parking spaces for people with disabilities.
  • All areas and facilities accessible to guests are either step-free/at ground level or accessible via a ramp or elevator. 
  • There are no slopes steeper than 6%.
  • All doors and passageways accessible to guests are at least 88 cm wide.
  • There is a lowered counter.
  • Most information is visible while seated.
  • There are two public restrooms for people with disabilities, both of which are accessible from either side (at least 80 cm). There are fold-down grab bars to the left and right of the toilet.   
  • Guided tours are offered for people with mobility impairments and wheelchair users. Advance registration is required. 
  • Mobile or fixed seating is available for people with mobility impairments and can be used during the guided tour.

  • Assistance dogs are welcome.
  • The entrance area is designed with high visual contrast.
  • Starting at the entrance, there is a floor-mounted visual and tactile wayfinding system that leads to the information desk and the restroom for people with disabilities in the museum area.
  • Signage (for wayfinding) is designed with clearly legible, high-contrast lettering.
  • All elevated areas accessible to visitors are illuminated with bright, glare-free lighting.
  • Controls are tactile and easily identifiable.
  • An emergency call made from the elevator is confirmed by an audible signal.
  • Some stairs have visually high-contrast edges, at least on the first and last steps.
  • Stairs have handrails on both sides.
