Thuringian Mountain Railway - Oberweißbach

Thuringian Mountain Railway valley station – Oberweißbach (Paul Hentschel)

A real treasure lies hidden in the wild and romantic Schwarza Valley: the Thuringian mountain railway. It is the only mountain railway that can transport standard-gauge passenger and freight cars and not only makes the hearts of railway fans beat faster, but also nature lovers get their money's worth. In the summer months, you can enjoy the 1.4 km long route with a 25% gradient in an open carriage, let the fresh air blow around your nose and listen to the lively chirping of birds.
