Friederiken Therme

The Friederiken Therme offers a wide spectrum of services encompassing health (therapy), relaxation (spa) and tourism. In addition to its bathing and sauna facilities, the thermal baths feature a therapy area offering physiotherapy services, a medical treatment center and a wellness zone. The entire facility is designed to be barrier-free an accessible in all areas. Three accessible changing rooms, showers and restrooms are available for us. Furthermore, all services and amenities are designed to be fully accessible and usable.

All areas relevant for testing meet the quality criteria of the label "Accessibility certified - partially accessible for people with walking disabilities and wheelchair users".

  • There are four parking spaces for people with disabilities.
  • The Friederiken Therme bus stop is 200 meters away. 
  • Almost all guest-accessible areas and facilities are step-free/at ground level or accessible via a ramp or elevator. A few areas are accessible only via steps.
  • There are no slopes steeper than 12.5%.
  • All doors, passageways, and pathways accessible to guests are at least 80 cm wide.
  • Restrooms for people with disabilities are available.  
  • The toilet in this restroom is accessible from at least one side (at least 80 cm). Fold-down grab bars are available to the left and right of the toilet.
  • The shower in the restroom for people with disabilities is accessible without steps. Grab bars are provided in the shower. A shower seat is available.
  • A passenger lift is available for access to the therapy pool.
  • Flat steps with a handrail are provided for access to the other swimming pools.
  • In the sauna, the manoeuvring space in front of the lower bench is usually at least 120 cm x 120 cm.

  • Wi-Fi is available.
  • In the elevator, an outgoing emergency call is visually confirmed.

  • All elevated areas accessible to guests are illuminated with bright, glare-free lighting.
  • An emergency call made from the elevator is confirmed by an audible signal.
  • Steps do not have high-contrast edges.
  • Some staircases have a handrail on only one side.
  • The font on the menu is simple and features high visual contrast.
  • The edges of the pools are set off with high visual contrast.  
  • There are steps with a handrail leading into the swimming pools.
  • Information is not available in braille or raised lettering.
